Description

These high-protein vegan burgers are made with TVP (textured vegetable protein), so they’re super satisfying and packed with protein! Try them for an easy, plant-based meal!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup TVP (textured vegetable protein)
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 2 tablespoons vegan mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil or vegetable oil
  • Burger buns and toppings (I used lettuce, tomato, and chipotle mayo)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the TVP with vegetable broth, soy sauce, and ground flax seeds. Let it sit for 5 minutes to allow the TVP to absorb the broth.
  2. Stir in the vegan mayonnaise, then add the nutritional yeast, seasonings, flour, and oats and mix until combined.
  3. Divide into 4 balls and shape into patties.
  4. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat for one minute.
  5. Cook the burgers over medium heat for 5 minutes or until golden brown on the bottom. Flip and continue to cook for 4-5 minutes until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Serve with your favorite toppings.
