Description
This 5 ingredient no-boil baked ziti recipe is cheesy and delicious! You can have this in the oven in 5 minutes, so it’s a great recipe for busy days!

- 8oz ziti or penne pasta
- 1 24oz jar marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 4oz fresh mozzarella cheese, torn into pieces (or about 1 cup shredded)
- 8oz whole milk ricotta cheese
- 1oz shredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Spray a 8×8 casserole dish with non-stick spray. Spray a sheet of aluminum foil with non-stick spray and set aside.
- Combine the pasta, sauce, and 1/2 cup of water in the baking dish. Stir to ensure the pasta is completely submerged in the sauce.
- Stir in half of the mozzarella cheese.
- Dollop the ricotta all over the pan.
- Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover tightly with the prepared aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. (For chickpea pasta, bake for 30 minutes.)
- Uncover and continue to bake for 10-15 minutes or until pasta is al dente. (For chickpea pasta, bake for 5-10 minutes.)
Notes
I started adding 1/2 cup of water just in case the sauce is thick, to ensure the pasta has enough moisture to cook. (If you’re using a thin sauce, you won’t need it. But I recommend adding 1/2 cup of water just to be sure!)
