Description

These tasty carrot fries can be made in the oven or air fryer for an easy, delicious side dish! There are tons of seasoning combinations you can enjoy to turn this simple vegetable into something crave-worthy.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb carrots, peeled and cut into thin sticks
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or olive oil spray
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

Air Fryer Directions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees.
  2. Toss the carrots in cornstarch, olive oil and salt. Add any additional seasonings if desired.
  3. Spread the carrots in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overlapping.
  4. Air fry for 5 minutes then stir the fries in the basket. Continue to cook for 5-7minutes until browned.

Oven Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Toss the carrots in cornstarch, olive oil and salt. Add any additional seasonings if desired.
  3. Spread the carrots onto a baking sheet in a single layer. Avoid overlapping.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes then flip the carrots and continue to cook for 8-10 minutes or until brown.

Notes

Add a blend of garlic powder, onion powder, and salt for a savory flavor. Or you can add a sprinkle of ranch seasoning, like the ranch seasoning blend from Trader Joe’s. For a slightly spicy flavor, add a little smoked paprika and a pinch of chili powder or cayenne pepper.
