Staying Active- Jillian Michaels DVD review!
I actually managed to stay active at home:
- I had a lot of gym dates with Alexa (which is SO motivating!)
- My dad and I had a father-daughter date at the ice rink and an hour of ice skating is enough cardio for me!
- And thanks to this Christmas present, I’ve been sore for the past 3 days:
I got the Shed and Shred Jillian Michaels DVD for Christmas, and I wanted to make sure I did it this week, so I could let you know if it was good!
So here’s the deal:
There are 2, 45 minute workouts. Level 1 and Level 2. Or you can do both levels together (but I think it’s slightly shortened, so it’s only an hour.) I sort of did it wrong, and ended up doing level 1 + level 2, and so it took an hour and a half. Let me tell you, an hour and a half of Jillian is a little much. But man was it a workout.
Its typical Jillian- lots of circuit workouts. This one had new moves though, so I was happy to see she wasn’t just recycling moves from her other dvds. It was also great because most of the moves can easily be incorporated into your own circuit workout. I’ll definitely be using these moves!
I think I liked it better than her Ripped in 30 dvd, and it’s at least as good as the 30 day Shred dvd, the workouts are just longer, so you need a little more time to complete them. (And if you haven’t tried Jillian’s Power Yoga, it’s one of my favorites!)
I could use a really good work out..understatement..I think this would more than give me what I need to catch up on LOL!
have been trying to lose weight for almost a year since my son was born and have lost maybe 5 pounds in the last 10 months. That is less than a pound per month. JILLIAN MICHAELS (trainer from Biggest Loser) and I lost maybe a half a pound in 30 days. Nothing was working and I was getting quite discouraged. I did research and found the LADY SOMA DETOX and researched it and read TONS of reviews
I started the Lady Soma Detox on September 1st, and today is September 10th. I have lost 7 pounds. 7 POUNDS! My husband even remarked that I looked like I lost weight. I just about started to cry I was so happy.
YAY! I love Jillian’s workouts. I’m going to try to get my hands on this one! 😀
Thanks for the review! I have workout dvd’s on my must buy list. Unfortunately I didn’t stay active during the holidays which has me feeling horrible 🙁
I have the biggest loser last chance workout, but I’m not a fan. I just didn’t like it. If you want it, it’s all yours!!
I do have her Yoga Meltdown that I haven’t tried yet…I’m scared!!!
I’ve tried a cardio kickboxing workout of hers and it was INTENSE! Honestly I’ve been looking for a yoga challenge so I might have to check out that power yoga DVD too

Haha I don’t think I could handle 1.5 hrs of Jillian either!! I would go mad.
I haven’t tried any of her DVDs but have seen a lot of people use them and on a regular basis, so they must be better than some of the old workouts DVDs that used to be around…

I loved staying active over the holidays…the only days I took off were Christmas Day and Boxing Day! I hit the gym at our condo 😉
