I haven’t met anyone in the last 10 years who hasn’t said “I’m so busy” and I totally get it. I am too. I like to fit in as many activities as possible. I’ve calmed down a little since Alex and I started dating, but I still have this mentality of “how can I fit more into the day?” sometimes. If I see a free hour, I try to squeeze in a workout.
If you’re one of those people that is on the go all of the time, it’s helpful to know exactly what you need to grab on your way out the door. This will help you transition right into your next activity, with no time wasted.
What I pack for the gym depends largely on what class or workout I’m doing. Obviously something more strenuous requires a few more supplies. Yoga, pilates, and barre are a little easier.
These are my must-have items. A hairbrush, deodorant, and a hair tie of course. I have to have bobby pins thanks to my bangs. Dry shampoo does wonders for sweaty roots. Sprinkle a little on, massage it in, then brush it out. I also love a good (makeup) crayon that can be used on your eyes, lips, and/or cheeks. I find I don’t usually need to touch up on my eye make up, but a little color on my lips and cheeks can make me look put together again.
For a cycling class, kickboxing class, running, or cardio-focused exercise, I need a few more essentials in my kit:
Obviously I still need the aforementioned essentials, but if I’m really going to be working up a sweat, I like to have a headband to keep my hair totally off of my face. Dry shampoo sometimes works for my roots, but I occasionally bring shampoo just in case. Keep an eye out for the 3-in-one shampoo/conditioner/shower gel type of formulas. It’s less to pack! I also love Revlon’s all-in-one foundation, which can touch up my makeup without needing powder, a brush, concealer, etc. This stuff covers up and stays in place.
These are the things I like to keep in my purse, work bag, or of course, gym bag. (For more of what’s in my purse… see this post.) I often keep an old pair of tennis shoes in my car, along with a set of workout clothes, just in case I can squeeze in a workout. It might sound a little bit crazy, but if you’re busy, I promise it can come in handy!
