There’s just so much to share today! If you asked me “What’s new?” here’s what I’d tell you:
Listen up ice cream lovers: Halo Top is coming out with more new flavors! I’m eyeing that candy bar pint. They should be hitting store shelves later this month. Meanwhile, they’re also planning to release a seasonal pumpkin flavor, so PSL lovers, get ready. If you’re still catching up on their previous release of flavors, check out my Halo Top flavor recommendations here.
Did you know Aldi has wine? Maybe I’m just late to the party, but I had no idea how cheap it was. I grabbed a bottle of the Winking Owl Pino Grigio for $3 just for fun… and it actually wasn’t bad. Probably better for something like sangria, but I enjoyed it on its own. Look out Trader Joe’s.
Speaking of grocery stores, Richmond just got its first Publix store! I went on opening day so it was a little crazy, but it was definitely the friendliest grocery store I’ve ever seen. The Publix brand ice cream is honestly amazing. I’d go back just for that.
You know I’m obsessed with my Fitbit but it means I’m often walking miles in not-so-ideal shoes so I spent weeks trying out shoes that weren’t totally ugly and wouldn’t cause foot pain if I was walking in them for 5 miles a day. I landed on these gold ones for work and these pink tennis shoes for traveling/weekend errands. I really wanted to like these but I ended up returning them because they weren’t as comfy as I hoped. To secure my grandma-status, I added arch support to these sandals since they’re my current favorite.
I’m adding this kale salad back into the meal rotation. It’s easy to make a big batch of the addictive dressing and then eat it for days on end. No joke: in the summer of 2012, I ate the salad dressing with plain kale almost every day.
I’m planning on making a batch of these dark chocolate truffles. They’re so good to keep in the freezer and they totally satisfy my sweet tooth even though they’re sugar-free. I fell in love with them when we gave up sugar for 30 days and they were one of my favorite recipes that we tried during our little experiment.
Usually, GT’s Kombucha is my go-to brand but I tried the grapefruit sage flavor from Búcha and I really liked it. In my opinion, it was a little less “earthy” than a lot of the other kombucha’s I’ve tried. I think it would probably be a good first step if you’re just dipping your toe into the world of kombucha. There’s a lot less “mother” floating around in it, making it an easier sell if you’re a newbie drinker.
I realize “yogurt news” sounds ridiculous, but if you haven’t been paying close attention to the yogurt aisle, then here’s what you might have missed: Chobani now offers “smooth” yogurt, meaning not super-thick-Greek yogurt. It still has less sugar and more protein than traditional yogurt, so if you/your spouse/your kids don’t’ like Greek yogurt… this could be a good one to try. On the flip side, Siggi’s released a triple cream yogurt earlier this year, which is exactly what it sounds like: super creamy yogurt. If you’re looking for a more luxurious yogurt, try this bad boy topped with some fresh blackberries and thank me later.
Yogurt and ice cream and Pino Grigio, OH MY! I always love your foodie suggestions and you have never steered me wrong! Red Velvet…come to Mama! Loved the post and please keep them coming!
I’m so excited for the new HT flavors!! They are killing it right now. I’m currently loving fennel, hah so random, but I can’t get enough!
Ooooh you had me at dark chocolate truffles! The cravings have started!
I’ve never tried Halo Top or shopped at Aldi’s….which is bad because it’s not far from where I live. I think all that needs to change, very soon! The Halo Top flavors in your other post look SO delicious!!
I think I am the only person who did not love Halo Top ice cream. Maybe I should try it again?!
I knew about the wine at Aldi, but I just found out recently that originally, Aldi and Trader Joe’s were run by brothers. They started out as one store but then the brothers had an argument and split into two stores. Just a little history lesson there! Oh, and I’m going to need all the new flavors of Halo Top….
Have you had Wallaby yogurt? They have a whole Greek vanilla yogurt — I swear it tastes just like ice cream. So delicious!
Kale salad is the BEST and never should have left rotation! 😉
I’ve heard so many great things about Halo. I need to try it.
I’m so sad my ALDI doesn’t have wine! I think it might be a town or state thing here in MA. Even at Stop and Shop, you have to buy the liquor at a separate register in the middle of the store that’s technically their own “liquor store’s” register. But I still LOVE ALDI for the cheap prices!!
Nothing! Late pregnancy is giving me so much heartburn the only things I’m enjoying right now are milk, grilled cheese and sour cream onion Pringles. I still haven’t even tried Halo Top! But, in a few weeks when I’m in recovery, post-delivery, then I’ll be happily back to trying new foods.
I need to check if the Aldi has wine here! That would be awesome!
I can’t wait for some new Halo Top flavors!
I finally had the Siggi’s triple cream at BlogFest and it was amazing!
Thanks for sharing 😉
I love all your findings, especially pink shoes 😀 And thanks for reminding me to add kale salad in my meals too 😉 YUM!
