When I’m grocery shopping, I try to fill up my cart with mostly whole ingredients. Fruits, veggies, grains, and specific ingredients for things I’ve found on Pinterest. I try not to buy a ton of processed food because if it’s around… I’ll eat it and I know that in generally, it’s not as good is it’s whole-food counterparts. But I’ve found a few food products that I’ve fallen in love with recently. Here are some of my favorites. (And these are totally just my favorites… I didn’t receive any of these free of charge, nor are these affiliate links!)
Sure, you could make a case for why 100 calorie versions of food are evil, but I really think these are awesome. I was getting a little tired of plain (unsweetened) yogurt and the vanilla Simply 100 is perfect. It does contain stevia & monk fruit, but I’m personally ok with these. I get that it might not be for everyone, but I’m loving it. A delicious option for those that are cutting back on sugar but still want a sweet flavor.
Oh my gosh I’m in love. I hadn’t had a veggie burger in awhile (after a few bad experiences of freezer burned patties) but these were amazing. Alex and I enjoyed them on Friday night. We just popped them in the oven and ate them with some avocado, bean sprouts, and salsa. Which brings me to my next love…
FINE. You caught me. I love french fries. Like total-guilty-pleasure kind of thing. I can pass on potato chips, I obviously don’t care about hamburgers… but french fries… those are my weakness. Now make them sweet potato fries and add in a spicy chipotle seasoning… I’m weak at the knees. Luckily, since these are frozen, portion control is a snap. (You can’t dig back in the freezer for another handful. Well I mean you could but…) I know french fries will never be a health food, but at least these are better than a fast food version, and they’re great when a fry craving hits!
The ultimate movie snack! You can munch on a whole bowl of this without eating tons of calories. It’s perfectly salty and just read the ingredients list. It’s like you made it yourself! (Except you don’t even have to make it. See how amazing that is?) Honestly, I’m obsessed. Even though bags of this disappear fairly quickly at my apartment, there are only 700 calories in the entire giant bag so if I can make it last a week, that’s not so bad.
