If you’re like most people, you’re probably starting 2017 with a few goals to be a little healthier. Whether it’s eating clean(er) or squeezing in a bit more exercise, here are a few of my favorite tips to help you achieve those goals!

I don’t think running has ever or will ever come easily to me, but I keep doing it because I know it’s good for me. My friend Hollie shared these 4 tips for new runners (and to be honest, they’re also helpful if you just feel like a newbie) so check these out if you’re working on pounding the pavement this year. I just signed up for a 10K in April so I can keep myself motivated to run even when it’s cold outside.

Rather than meeting a friend for coffee, invite them to take a walk while you chat. Read a book while pedaling on a stationary bike.

Rest is so important. When you’re well rested you’re more likely to exercise, less likely to crave sugar, and hello you’ll feel like a total rockstar when you’ve gotten a great night of shut eye. I used to be a terrible sleeper but over the years I’ve learned a few tricks that have helped a lot. If your goal is to sleep more (or better) then try these tips.

    One of my goals is getting more sleep. I’m a night owl so going to bed earlier is hard. Last night was proof of my body protesting but fingers crossed today will be better already.

  5. Eating less meat is definitely on my list for this year! I especially want to cut down to mainly eating chicken and seafood, but I’m starting with one meatless day a week and we’ll go from there!

  8. I always feel better when I get a good nights sleep as well. It’s something I’m working harder on.

  9. I have several goals for the upcoming year – two related to health = cut down on meat. I won’t say that I’ll be a full-on vegetarian; however, I rarely buy meat so the only time I consume it is on Sunday nights at my parents house. Do eggs count? I don’t think I could ever give those up!

    Another goal is to create a jogging habit. I know it’ll get more and more difficult the bigger I get with pregnancy but I intend on starting the Couch to 5K app this morning. My ultimate goal (even after baby comes) would be to run a 5K three times each week. Hopefully I can build my endurance in the next twelve months 🙂
