Tone It Up Meals: Week 4

I can’t believe I’m already on week 4 of the Tone It Up Bikini Series! It’s been a fun challenge so far and I’m proud of myself for sticking to the workouts and mostly following the meal plan. Here’s what my meals have been looking like:

smoothie bowl

I’ve been on a huge smoothie bowl kick. The weather hasn’t even warmed up yet but these are just so refreshing. A little frozen fruit, ice, almond milk, & protein powder. Obviously, with lots of toppings because that’s the best part! These usually keep me pretty full. The Tone It Up nutrition plan recommends a morning snack but I’m typically pretty full from my smoothie bowls and I don’t always have time between meetings so lately I’ve been skipping this one.

kale salad with berries

I warned you that this White Balsamic & Strawberry Kale salad would be on repeat! I’ve been packing it for lunch almost every day. It’s such a simple recipe but I can’t get enough! Give it a try.  I’ll usually have this with a few crackers and hummus or a cup of soup depending on what the cafeteria is serving.

elli quark cherry yogurt

Elli Quark sent me some samples of their yogurt and I’ve been packing these with me for my afternoon snack. I love that it has the creaminess of Greek yogurt but it’s not as tart. The fruit flavors are delicious (without being overly sweet) and it’s packed with protein so it keeps me full. (FYI Richmonders, you can find these at Whole Foods or Ellwood Thompsons!)

lemon indian food

When Alexa was visiting, we had to get Indian food. I had Aloo Gobi, which is what I always get from Lemon. I had it with some rice and garlic naan. It’s not always easy to find healthy food when you’re getting takeout, but I love that Indian cuisine has so many veggie-based dishes. I usually try to stick to brown rice vs. white rice but this rice was worth it!

I’ve been trying to curb my late night snacks but when I need something to munch on, I’ve been trying to stick to healthier snacks like Halo Top or a bowl of popcorn.

I can’t resist a salty, crunchy snack. Luckily, popcorn is a high-volume food so you can have a decent sized serving for not a lot of calories. I would much rather have a bowl of popcorn than a single cookie!

What have you been eating lately?

Linking up with Laura for What I Ate Wednesday!

  1. Indian food sounds so yummy right now. I’m also all about the smoothie bowls right now. I just have to add toppings that add enough crunch. I need that crunch factor!

  2. Your photographs and meals all look so bright and summery!! When the weather shifts I loveeeee adding fresh fruit or berries to my salads. I can’t drink smoothies – they never satisfy me – but I definitely want to start having ore of them in bowl form.

  3. Ah, all your food looks amazing! The Smoothie bowl, salad, indian, pop corn…I want it all!! And awesome job sticking with you plan/goals. #impressed 🙂

  4. I have been eating smoothie bowls on the daily. Its going to be 100 degrees today, so smoothies are probably going to be the only thing I eat! Well, except for the coffee I drank at 5am 😉

  5. I tried quark when I lived in England but wasn’t as much of a fan as I am of Greek yogurt. However one of my best friends is named Elli so I might need to give this brand a go 🙂

  6. Yummm that salad looks amazing and I’m a HUGE fan of indian food! Your eats look amazing!

  7. After reading and looking at your post…I’m hungry…surprising LOL. It’s hard to believe you’ve been doing the challenge for 4 weeks now. It feels like just yesterday that you started.

  8. That salad looks divine! I can’t wait to check it out!

  9. I want to get on the smoothie bowl kick, because those are some of my favorite creations on Instagram!

  10. That smoothie bowl looks awesome! And my husband is with you on popcorn. It’s one of his favorite snacks. 🙂

  11. Smoothie bowls are my JAM lately and yes toppings are where it’s at! I like cacao nibs and goji berries on mine, but yours look really good!

  12. Indian – or my versions of it as we don’t have any Indian restaurants in my area – is one of my favorite cuisines, too. All the spices make it so incredibly flavourful.
Have you tried the plain Quark, too? Quark is a staple over here and I really like it mixed with some stevia, vanilla and coconut flour.

  13. I’m a big fan of smoothie bowls, and that one looks delicious!

  14. I need to get on the smoothie bowl bandwagon! Yours looks so good, too! I’ve been on vacation a lot lately, so I’ve probably been indulging more than I should. I’m definitely getting back to some meal prep when I get home!

  15. That smoothie bowl looks amazing! I’ve been eating a lot of vacation indulgences, so I’m looking forward to getting back to some healthy meal prep when I get home
