Chipotle Catering Review
If you’re thinking about using Chipotle catering for your next event, here’s what you need to know!
Chipotle’s Catering Service
Chipotle launched its catering service in 2014 and we’ve used it many times. From birthday parties to graduations, it’s a great way to feed a large group of people! Their catering service provides the napkins, bowls, chips, and other essentials, so you don’t have to worry about a thing!
How Much to Order
As you might expect, this depends on the size of your crowd and how hungry your guests will be. When you’re ordering through the online system, you’re technically paying “per person” although they’re generous in the portion sizes. If you’re ordering the “Double” or the “Triple” options, you don’t necessarily need to order a meal for every person. If you’re hosting a birthday party or casual event, ordering 10 servings will likely feed 11-13 people. Obviously, there is a difference in people’s appetites, so it’s best to have extras!
When Chipotle initially launched their catering offerings, the food came in metal containers, shown below. They’ve recently moved to plastic containers.
Planning for a Group
One reason I love using Chipotle’s catering service is that it’s easy to fit a variety of diet restrictions. Since guests can customize their own bowl, it’s easy to offer gluten free, vegetarian, and/or vegan options.
When picking salsa options, I recommend the mild tomato salsa and the corn salsa. These aren’t too spicy but they both offer a lot of flavor.
For proteins, I recommend a veggie option (the fajita veggies and guacamole are excellent) then chicken, then steak. Those tend to be the crowd pleasers!
How to Store Leftovers
Most of the items will keep well in the fridge for 2-3 days, with the exception of the guacamole and lettuce. All containers come with plastic lids, so it’s easy to keep everything sealed and fresh.
Catering Customer Service
I’ve been a huge fan of Chipotle’s food for years, so it’s no surprise I love their catering service! I’ve also been impressed with their customer service. When ordering Chipotle catering for a surprise party, the restaurant was late with the order. (Very late, which was unfortunate for a surprise party!) But when I submitted my feedback online, Chipotle was quick to apologize and offered me a coupon for free catering so they could make it right at another event. They go above and beyond, which is awesome!
If you need a budget friendly, easy, delicious catering service for your next event, try Chipotle!
This post was not sponsored but Chipotle did provide me with catering for an event. I was not required to post a review, but I wanted to share my honest thoughts!
I need to buy stock in Chipotle I love them so much. Did you know that no Chipotle restaurant has a freezer on its premises because the food is that fresh?! Yep, pretty awesome.
I love the use of the leftovers here too.
I used my leftover veggie stir fry from last night’s dinner to be the sauce on my pizza today.
Ok. How does one get Chipotle to do this?! WE LOVE Chipotle and this would be amazing!
Hi Liz,
Your blog … definitely my best new discovery!
I myself am also very addicted to vegetables. I could eat them the whole day through! People don’t understand, but I just can’t help it 🙂 Your recipes and way of living are very inspirational. I think I might need a couple of hours and a few cups of tea to catch up with all your previous posts that I’ve missed!
I followed you on Bloglovin’ and Twitter!
Hope you’re having a wonderful week!

Yum! Looks like their catering is great. As someone in that business I love seeing how people set things up.
That Chipotle party looks amazing. I never would’ve thought to have Chipotle cater a party 🙂 What a great idea! I think all of these meal ideas look delicious. I’m not typically a fan of leftovers but I think Chipotle leftovers would be great.
Growing up I really disliked leftovers. My mom worked full-time so she’d make a couple of things on the weekend and we’d eat those throughout the week. Now that’s completely how I cook and do food prep and I have a much better appreciation for leftovers making lunch and dinner a breeze during busy weeks.
Oh wow, Chipotle is awesome! I use leftovers with veggies. I’m a pretty simple person.
a party catered by chipotle? that sounds something like heaven – and you’re the perfect person to whip up leftover recipes with the all the goods 🙂
First off, I now want chipotle after reading this!! I want a chipotle party! Second off, those are brilliant ideas to use the leftovers. I need to be that creative, I always dread leftovers and throw them out half the time.
First of all, I think it should say “classy people throw chipotle parties.” I mean if that’s not classy then I just don’t know what is haha. Also great ideas for usin up leftovers! Soups is by far my favorite way, or stirfries.
