I almost had to post this earlier, because I just couldn’t wait to tell you about it, but I decided I should use it for a little while, to be sure the magic didn’t wear of. It hasn’t.
So let’s start off with a confession. I’ve been guilty of being that girl that goes to the gym, putters around on the ellptical, aimlessly does some free weights, and leaves the gym feeling unsure of what I really accomplished. I’ve worked with a personal trainer, I’ve taken fitness classes, I’ve worked out with other people, and I love that! But sometimes I’m on my own… and I feel directionless. Often I turn to Jillian Michaels, but what about when I’m actually at the gym?
That’s when the Nike Trainer Club App is amazing! Don’t get this confused with the Nike+ Running App, although that one is great too. This one is a fitness app with tons of different circuit workouts, targeting different levels, muscle groups, and goals. They have 15 min, 30min or 45min sets, and even the 15min sets will get your heart pumping. It has an audible and visual timer, which keeps track of when to switch exercises (usually every minute) and video demos of each exercise if you’re not sure what it is.
I’ve been doing the intermediate workouts, and they’re kicking my butt! I’ve been sore every single time! I really like this, and since I can take my iphone with me anywhere, these are super portable. For most of the exercises, you don’t need anything more than hand weights. (A few call for an exercise ball, but I’ve used hand weights instead. )
My favorite workouts so far:
- Arm Definer: my shoulders were so sore the next day!
- Perfect Score: this circuit got my heart pumping
- Ab burner: even though it was only 15 minutes, my abs were burning by the end
I’ve done it on my own, I’ve done it with Alex, and I’ve done it with Kate. Everyone agrees, you’ll sweat, and you will be sore. Earlier this week, I was doing it by myself, and some guys in the gym came over to ask me what I was using. I couldn’t stop raving about. It’s like a portable personal trainer. It pushes me further that I’d push myself!
FYI I have no affiliation with Nike, and I’m not getting paid a dime for this. I just really like the product. (But Nike, if you wanna throw some swag my way, that’s fine.)
